Additional Details

The ancient Greek city of Paestum (600-450BC) on the southern coast of Italy laid largely forgotten from the early middle ages until a re-discovery and resurgence of interest occured in the mid-eighteenth century. In the present volume, accomplished French architect Delagardette offers his contribution to the study of the the early Greek ruins at the site: Namely the two Temples of Hera and the Temple of Athena. Delagardette's engravings exhibit the collonades, capitals and entablatures all carefully planned, measured and drafted with precise detail.
