Additional Details

A classic and extremely influential late-19th century architectural guidebook for dwellings and commercial buildings. It appeared monthly between 1885 and 1905 and was a leading resource for architects, builders, constructing engineers and contractors. Many of the buildings depicted were ones already built and thus listed the address and builder. The journal, with its perfectly measured plans, served as a pattern book for towns that did not have a community building planning system. Of note among civic projects is the November 1886 issue which has an article on the installation and dedication of The Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.
