Lincoln Ellsworth (1880-1951) is best remembered for accompanying Roald Amundsen and Umberto Nobile in 1926 on the first undisputed trip to the North Pole. He also made several other polar voyages, and discovered the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica.
