Additional Details

A bitter anonymous protest against the Gadsden Purchase (Venta de la Mesilla, to the Mexicans) which gave much of southern Arizona and New Mexico to the United States. Corrupt motives by President Santa Anna are alleged. This Acapulco edition was reprinted from the Morelia first edition of the same year (titled Los Millones de la Mecilla). OCLC does not list the present edition, but the Instituto Mora in Mexico has one, for which Rice University has recently provided scans and an English translation. None of any edition traced at auction.
