Additional Details

Alishan was a nineteenth-century historian and priest of the Mekhitarist order at the monastery of San Lazzaro, Venice, long a center of Armenian culture, study and publishing. This is his classic compendium relating the history and geography of Armenian Cilicia (11th-14th centuries) culled from the vast ancient source materials available to him at the monastery.
