In late 1947, artist Bob Blackburn had acquired his own lithograph press, and a year later he opened the Printmaking Workshop in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. From the start, Blackburn was interested in abstraction in his printmaking, and the present piece is a good example. Provenance: a gift to the consignor''s parents from the artist.
