The prints are not signed and were issued without captions, but are listed on the portfolio flap: Skipping Rope, 1958; Black Maternity, 1959; The Black Woman Speaks, 1960; Mother and Son, 1971 (illustrated); Black is Beautiful, 1972.

With--a second portfolio from the same period. E.W. Gordon and James A. Porter. "Black Artists in America." Portfolio, 19 x 12 inches, containing slightly smaller inner sleeve and 8 plates; minor wear to outer portfolio, minimal wear to contents. Outer title sleeve has Charles White image on cover and "An Introductory Note" by Edmund W. Gordon inside. Inner sleeve has an illustrated 4-page essay, "One Hundred and Fifty Years of Afro-American Art," by James Amos Porter. The 8 plates are each dedicated to one artist, each including biographical text and two or three illustrations: Selma Burke, Elizabeth Catlett, Ernest Crichlow, Richard Hunt, Loïs Mailou Jones, Richard Mayhew, Charles White, and Hale Woodruff.
