Arthur Burdett Frost (1851-1928) American illustrator, graphic artist, and painter was one of the great artists of the "Golden Age of American Illustration." His work appears in over 90 books, and countless periodicals. Frost''s depictions of blacks were characteristic of the era in which he lived, often stereotypical, but not unkind.
