While the reverse of the frame for this piece calls it "back Stage," the original pencil sketch was titled "In a Southern City." It was sold in a Charleston N.C. auction in 2008. Alfred Hutty (1877-1954) was a North Carolina artist and leader of the so-called "Charleston Renaissance."
