A very detailed time-line of the important events and dates in Negro history, arranged from January to December, from the 16th century to the 20th. Issued by Carter G. Woodson for his "The African Background Outlined, or Handbook for the Study of Negro Life and History." Lois Jones (1905-1998) taught at Howard University for much of her lifetime, and was also one of Woodson''s and the Association''s "house" artists, providing illustration and dust jacket designs for many books published by Associated Publishers from the 1930s to the 1950s.
