Very disturbing, but not altogether atypical Haitian painting that depicts a well-dressed older woman sitting at a table with a man, apparently in the midst of a card reading. The man holds the ace of spades--the death card. In the room, a huge snake (Danbala) leaning over the man's shoulder holds a candle in its mouth; a man and a woman and a goat hang upside down from the ceiling; many other voodoo symbols fill the room.
