Additional Details

Poster for a groundbreaking abstract art exhibition. Organized by Black artist Peter Bradley, it featured work by Alvin Loving, Sam Gilliam, Richard Hunt, William T. Williams, Edward Clark, and more, alongside work by white artists such as Anthony Caro and Jules Olitski. Held in an abandoned movie theater in a predominantly Black neighborhood of Houston, it was intended to be more welcoming to a wider audience than a traditional gallery. Penny Johnson is named as the designer of the poster. None in OCLC, and none traced at auction.
