Additional Details

Dox Thrash (1892-1975) is best remembered as a printmaker who developed one of the most innovative printing techniques of the twentieth century--the use of carborundum to etch copper plates instead of the normal tools and techniques. We offer here, two typed drafts by Thrash explaining just how he accomplished his novel technique, probably written during the Depression while working for the Federal WPA project.
