Additional Details

This ground-breaking exhibition opened at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1976 and then went on tour to three other institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum from 25 June to 5 September 1977 as shown here. It was billed as "the first comprehensive survey of African American art." This poster features a reproduction of the painting "Flowers at Jefferson Memorial" by Alma Thomas. We trace no other examples in OCLC or at auction.
