In 1932, Valensi, among the most important early abstract painters, founded the Association des Artistes Musicalistes in Paris, based on the principles of 'infusionist' painting, also called 'musicalism." This was the fusion of painting and music, where sound waves and light became synonymous, and which the members considered the highest form of art. A delicate but very good copy of this scarce catalogue for the first of 23 exhibitions (or, Salons) which they held between the 1930s-50s, first in Paris, then in Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague, and Rotterdam.
