An accordion fold-out album containing 44 photographs, many of China, as well as Burma and Formosa (Taiwan), including the cities Amoy, Hong Kong, Peking, and Singapore; with images of Western missionaries posing with school students, portraits of locals, street scenes, sacred sites, landscapes, and a wrecked boat. Albumen prints, sizes ranging from 4 1/2x3 1/4 to 8x10 3/4 inches (11.4x8.3 to 20.3x27.3 cm.), and the reverse, all but 11 mounted recto/verso, 4 pages with 2 images per page, and all but one with a caption, in ink, on mount recto. Oblong folio, yellow silk with a floral pattern, worn at the edges; one of the seams of the accordion, near the rear, starting. 1880s
