Additional Details

An early illustrated manual for an automobile powered by "liquid air." The company was launched in 1899 and owned a large factory in Cambridge, MA. They produced a working prototype but folded in 1902. This brochure announces with confidence: "Liquid Air as applied by the inventions of this company will eclipse steam, electricity, and all other motive powers." The fuel "can be secured from the earth's atmosphere at a nominal cost." Some of the patent drawings and technical explanations are included if anyone cares to retrace their steps.

The stock price is listed at $4.00 per share; the company's newspaper advertisements in the Boston newspapers announced that the price was increasing to $4.00 on 16 September 1899, and had risen to $5.00 by April 1900. One in OCLC (University of Michigan).
