These volumes comprise the first two works of Biebl illustrated by Teige. Biebl's poems in S lodi were inspired by his travels in 1926-27 to Ceylon, Sumatra, and Java. Zlom is the second edition of the text, but the first edition with cover design and typography by Teige. Teige's "compositions," created from geometric shapes, typographic symbols, and letters, do not harmonize with the character of the poems; rather they stand as parallel, individual and independent expression"--Fairleigh Dickinson University, Czech Avant-garde and Czech Book Design.
