Additional Details

the scarce precursor to MA, published by Kassák, the leading figure in the Hungarian avant-garde movement and publisher of poetry, graphics, and politics. The first issue of A Tett was published in 1915 in an edition of 500 copies; the second issue was confiscated by the censors for insulting religious authorities. As such, the cover (as well as complete design and binding materials) changed with issue #13. Issue 16 (included here), subtitled "International" contains contributions from countries that were at war with Austria-Hungary, and was thus seized by the authorities; after issue #17 the journal was completely banned. Kassák wasted no time and within a month was publishing his new magazine, MA. Gonzalez, page 11.
