Additional Details

These fascinating booklets were intended for use by German pilots and navigators during the Battle of Britain, with this group covering a chief entrance to English airspace roughly between Portsmouth and Margate. The bottom half of each page contains an isometric aerial photograph of a section of coast as it appeared on the approach from France, above that is a corresponding black and red map indicating coastal defenses and other important topographical features. This set was acquired by an American airman at Berlin Tempelhof Airport in October of 1945.
