Additional Details

The first and heavily propagandistic exhibition of the "New Germany." The "Deutsches Volk - Deutsche Arbeit" (April 21 - June 3, 1934) show was organized by the National Socialist Regime. At that point, many artists were still able to participate. However, soon after the exhibtion (after the "Röhm coup"), the prosecution intensified. Mies van der Rohe, Lilly Reich, Walter Gropius (who designed the architecture), F.A. Breuhaus, Herbert Bayer (who was responsible for graphic design), Carl Grossberg and others were among the participants. Mies and Reich designed the German mining section.
