Additional Details

A fine copy of this title, in a striking Kieffer binding. In 1921 Anatole France won the Nobel Prize for literature, and Papé was chosen to illustrate a group of six of the author''s most famous works, this among them. The plates employ Papé''s dark humor and lavish detail in a combination of fantasy and trenchant satire.
