Additional Details

A letter from the original bookseller, Meyers & Co., laid in, states that this is a rare copy printed on enamelled paper (as such, the volume weighs over 2 pounds). The binder, Clarke & Bedford, was considered to be one of the finer binderies in Great Britain. Francis Bedford studied under Charles Lewis, the leading binder of the day. A pencil note on the preliminaries mentions that the volume was also once in the library of Lord Gosford.
