Additional Details

The facsimile plaques are taken from The British Museum of the Bibliotheque Nationale; they measure 240x160 mm and include a French mosaic binding from 1710, a Geoffroy Tory royal binding, and a Aldus Manutius design for Grolier. The German binding bears a contemporary taped spine and has edgewear and worm holes. The Cushing design is executed in green watercolor with faux marbling technique, with white and gold painted designs; 208x205mm, tipped to mount, Signed lower right, matted in cream cloth and in a gilt-painted frame (chipped).
