Gould and Edward Lear, plus one uncolored plate of bird parts. Folio, beautiful deep green morocco, gilt-embellished with repeating floral motifs, backstrip with 6 compartments (2 lettered, the others with repeating floral motifs), by Kurt Gaebel & Sons; plates are exceptionally clean, a few with the slightest offsetting from the text; ink stamp on verso of title (North Devon Athenaeum - bequeathed by H. H. Sharland); 1/4 morocco slipcase * Supplement to the First Edition of a Monograph of the Ramphastidae, or Toucans.<> 2 volumes, containing 20 hand-colored lithographed plates finished with gum arabic.
