Additional Details

A classic nineteenth century American sampler with numerous alphabets and numbers. The typical manner in which young ladies were taught their Reading, Writing and 'Rithmatic. This unusually large sampler has the added charm of two African-American figures in the bottom field, a man and a woman who seem to be dancing. Only the second sampler with an African-American theme that we have handled.
