Additional Details

A group of three large panels from the old New York Herald, depicting "L'il Mose" in three very New York scenes and situations. L'il Mose, unlike the majority of the "cartooning" of blacks at the turn of the century, was painted as simply a little black boy. He is mischievous, but not because he is black, but rather as a little boy.
