Wooden box measuring 11 1/2x11 inches, the front of the box with mounted pictorial cardboard panels to represent the sides of a stage; 2 of the scenes with repairs, other minor flaws to tableaux, rubbing to the box. Each of the 8 scenes depict Blacks in exaggeratedly stereotypical poses. The scenes show dancers, musicians, and other figures in brightly colored outfits.
McLaughlin Bros. was established in the 1850s. Their products provided amusement in American homes in the second half of the 19th century and well into the 20th century.
