Three contemporary pieces mailed out to raise money for a defense fund. After a prison guard who had repeatedly harassed her attempted to rape her, Joan Little fought back and killed him. The prosecution in typical fashion accused Ms. Little of leading the guard on. After a trial which at times bordered on the ridiculous, Ms. Little was exonerated.
