One of the community service projects of the Panthers in conjunction with the Black Community Survival Conference. This was a really grand gathering. Music by the soul-funk group "The Persuasions," speakers like Bobby Seale, Julian Bond, Erica Huggins, Congressman Ron Dellums, and many more. The Panthers on at least one other occasion gave away free bags of groceries at gatherings in Oakland, but this was by far the biggest event.
