9 of the photographs relate to Seale's 1970-71 New Haven trial and subsequent release. One shows him with co-defendant Ericka Huggins; another shows him delivering a two-fisted Black Power salute while handcuffed outside the courthouse, and others show his release on bail. One dates from his 1973 campaign to become mayor of Oakland, and the last shows him after contempt of court hearings in Chicago, November 1973.
