Additional Details

John Huggins (1945-1969) was a Black Panther leader who was killed in Los Angeles by members of a rival black nationalist group, the US Organization, in a feud apparently instigated by the FBI. The Panthers named their new children's breakfast program in his honor. His wife Ericka is shown here with their daughter Mai. Only one other example of this poster has been traced at auction, at Swann on 3 May 2010, lot 133.
