Additional Details

This poster features a stylized depiction of Bobby Seale shackled and gagged in the courtroom, juxtaposed with quotes from Jerry Rubin and Eldridge Cleaver. Seale was released on a mistrial in November 1969, turning the Conspiracy 8 into the Chicago 7. The artist Johanna Vogelsang (1929-2011) was active in the Washington area circa 1970; she also produced a poster of Shirley Chisholm in a similar style. We find no other examples of this print in OCLC, at auction, or elsewhere.
