Additional Details

An enormous armed African-American man stands behind a Washington skyline including the Washington Monument and the United States Capitol. Lonmill Industries was in business in Washington and Maryland from at least 1969 to 1978, and was listed in the 1975 National Minority Business Directory for "screen printing, blocking, design & build exhibits, aluminum signs." A 27 December 1978 article in the Baltimore Sun profiled their owner Ernest R. Long (1935-2002), a graphic designer whose side business was owning race horses: "Being black and being an owner has never seemed to be an issue with me. I know, basically, it's a white man's game." No other examples traced in OCLC or at auction.
