José Maria Linares (1810-1861) led an 1857 coup against the Bolivian military regime of General Jorge Córdova. He was the first civilian president in Bolivia's history, and is generally regarded as a reformer and modernizer. This pamphlet was written in exile by one of his leading opponents, calling for an end to the Linares revolution.
