Additional Details

The Revolution was launched at Lexington and Concord on 19 April. John Stark was commissioned as colonel of a New Hampshire regiment on 23 April, and three days later was at the front lines to assist in the siege--as shown by this document. Here, his captain signs for a ration of rum: "Recd rum for 21 men in Col'l John Stark's regt, rec'd by me, Jonathan Straw, Capt."
