Group of 29 photographs associated with the Boy Scouts of America, Miami Valley Council in Dayton, Ohio, including scouts on a camping weekend and pine tree patrol in the Woodland Trails Scout Reservation, a patriotic float, a chariot race, a demonstration of how to light a fire, a first aid exercise, Teddy Roosevelt reviewing lads exercising at Sagamore Hill, group portraits plus leadership programs, and jamborees. Silver prints, 4 (together on one mount) measure approximately 4 1/4x7 1/2 inches (11.4x19.1 cm.), and 25 are 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (19.1x24.1 cm.) and individually mounted; each with handwritten caption labels below the prints, an embossed gold foil seal affixed to mount recto and a hand stamp on mount verso. with--Album entitled "Happy Days in the C.C.C.," belonging to Ballard Bowling, with more than 65 snapshots by him depicting comrades in the Civilian Conservation Corps (a federally-sponsored Work Relief Program that provided jobs) in Montana; with an additional 12 family images and 4 postcards. Silver prints, 2 1/4x4 inches (5.7x10.2 cm.), many captioned, in ink, on recto. Small oblong 4to, pictorial suede, soiled; ties. 1940s.
