Trois Dizains des Contes Gaulois. 20 etchings by Bracquemond, proofs before letters on India paper. 8vo, full red crushed levant morocco by lortic, elaborately gilt with -tooled and -paneled spine, fillet borders and panels on covers, gilt decoration at each corner, inner margins, and all edges also gilt, some rubbing to extremities and joints. From the library of Roderick Terry, with his bookplate, and with another untraced bookplate bearing the initials 'I. N.' in embossed gilt on a crimson shield. Paris, 1862

first edition. presentation copy from the author, with inscription. one of 300 copies on special paper, for subscribers only. The Bracquemond plates, although executed for this work, were not included in all copies.

Also inserted is an A.L.S. by E. Gay, 2 pages, 8vo, Paris, September 6, 1862, about 150 words in condemnation of the book.
