Additional Details

A German scientist describes his travels in Brazil from 1850 to 1852. The map traces his route deep into the interior. The plate volume consists mostly of large lithograph views of river and wilderness scenes, with a few of settlements, and one with four indigenous bust portraits. "The plates were drawn to illustrate the journey. This volume is much more difficult to find than the text itself"--Borba de Moraes, pages I:136. Sabin 9346, 9348.
