Additional Details

King Pedro I (1798-1834) is shown standing with his hand on the 1826 Constitution. It is about the right size to have served as a frontispiece for an 11-volume botanical set sponsored by King Pedro which was also lithographed by Senefelder, "Florae Fluminensis" (1827). However, we find no such portrait in the set held by Brazil's Mindler Library. Senefelder was the inventor of lithography. None others traced at auction or in OCLC.
