Funeral home records are often of great interest to genealogists. These records were kept by White Funeral Home, located in Mineola in Wood County, TX, east of Dallas. All of the deceased are listed as "Negro" through 1976, and then as "Black." For each of the 608 interments, we are usually given their occupation, birth date and place of both parents, religion, contact information of a survivor, and final resting place. Many of the funerals were paid for in part by burial societies or fraternal organizations.
