Additional Details

A touching photograph of these ladies, young and old, standing together with one of the greatest African-American figures of the day. Madam Walker was a close friend of Du Bois, whose more radical ideas regarding the "uplifting" of the race fit her concept of advancing the rights and dignity of her workers.
