Additional Details

A pair of scarce business directories. The first provides a history of the Trade Association, formed in 1930. First called the Detroit Negro Trade Association, but changed a few months later to The Booker T. Washington Trade Association. The Association, in concert with the Detroit Housewives League conducted annual exhibits and seems to have been quite active in Detroit's black community. The Booker T. Washington Association, a trade association still exists in Detroit. Curiously enough we could find no copies of these directories anywhere.
