This restaurant was launched in Palo Alto, CA in 1939 by Alvin Julius Carter (1897-1955) and Louisiana native Alice Carter Lucas (1878-1971); Alice was the primary cook, and ran it alone for 5 years after A.J.'s passing. This card promises "Southern dinners, luncheons, enjoy our Southern hospitality every day!" An exterior view of the restaurant appears on verso.
