Album of 42 photographs depicting the interiors of butcher shops and groceries in Brooklyn and Queens and compiled by butcher block maker W. V. Staib. Silver prints, 1910s. 5 3/4x8 inches, with the name of the shop and the address in stylized white ink on the mounts and Mr. Staib's title page in white ink with a decorative border. Oblong 4to, black leather, worn.

A unique collection of photographs that often include the shops' sproprietors and staff posing proudly behind the counters. A number of the images show large butcher blocks with W. V. Staib's imprint on the side. The shops include several of H. C. Bohack's stores, Wolff & Leve, Popular Market, Osterhus Brothers, and more.
