A colorful patriotic ballot or prox from the 1861 state election, illustrated with a Union flag and a firing cannon. It endorses Leland Stanford for governor; in this election he became the state's first Republican governor. It also includes candidates from San Joaquin County (east of San Francisco including Stockton) and a proposition to raise a tax for road construction. Not in OCLC or Greenwood's California imprints.
