Additional Details

A promotional prospectus for a mine on a mountainside overlooking Keeler in Inyo County, producing gold, silver, lead, and zinc. We are told that only the remote location has prevented the mine's full exploitation: "To the south for miles interminable stretched a trackless desert, parched by the summer sun, swept by relentless winds or deluged by sudden cloudbursts--a weird, prophetic land which tempted many daring prospectors to their doom." The site is now a ghost town. This pamphlet was handed out by a company officer who wrote on the cover: "When you are in San Jose, Cal., take time to call at the office of this company. . . . It will interest and please you." None in OCLC, and none others traced at auction.
