Angkor Wat is considered one of the wonders of the Asian world. Located close to the modern Cambodian town of Siem Reap, Angkor Wat and the other one hundred plus stone temples of the ancient capital of the Khmer offer visitors a truly magical encounter with a sacred site. Thought to be built between the 9th and 13th century AD, Angkor ceased to be a living city around 1431.
