Additional Details

The diary of a Scottish immigrant to New York as she returns to her home town. She leaves her husband in Geneva, NY and travels by boat across Lake Ontario and down the St. Lawrence, with nice description of Quebec and many of the smaller towns on the way. She writes at sea: "My birth day, this time 25 years I was likewise on the Atlantic Ocean going to America" (29 September 1823). She then visits with family south of Glasgow until returning in July 1824.
