Group of approximately 30 photographs related to the ship, most issued just before her launch, during speed trials, and during her maiden voyage; issued by the company or press services, most in 8x10 inch format. Includes some interior shots of the ship as well. Principally 1961
PLUS-Early company issued brochure promoting the ship, and the "Empress of Canada" number of The Journal of Commerce (21 April 1961). The "Empress" became the "Mardi Gras" in 1972, as the first ship in the Carnival Cruise Lines. She later sailed as "Star of Texas," "Lucky Star," and finally "Apollon" for the Epirotiki Lines. She was scrapped in 2004.
